As my garden heads in to Autumn and most of the perennials are dying back or their leaves are turning shades of vermilion and maroon, a group of plants that are still blooming profusely are the Alstromerias. Their colourful petals and markings are just crying out to be painted!

The blue background was printed on the gel press. For the collage paper I use a semi transparent paper called, deli paper, which I print, stamped and brush, creating textures and colours which I feel characterize the Alstromeria’s flower, stems and leaves. It’s a process that I am loving more and more.
