March saw me attend a two day monotype workshop with the extremely talented Annika Romeyn, check out her website, it is astounding!
Annika works with watercolour on a polypropylene sheet that has been prepared with a thin layer of gum arabic.

The gum arabic on the plastic sheet made the watercolour behave as it would on paper, quite a surprise! The main difference being that you can wipe away areas of colour and create textures, through stamping and scraping.
