In April I once again departed for Queenstown. The long awaited for 2025 Workshop schedule for Press West had been released and I booked myself into several workshops. The first one, “Turbine”, was an expedition to Granville Harbour, for an En Plein air workshop, with guest tutors George Kennedy and Robert Habel.

There are 31 wind turbines located at Granville Harbour,. I was struck with mixed emotions, on the one hand they kill a lot of migratory birds and the land underneath was cleared for cattle, so while supplying renewable energy, the cattle add to the greenhouse gas through methane. It also had the feeling of HG Wells about it. War Of The Worlds.
