Drawing birds in ink and watercolour

New Holland Honey Eaters

After a full on year of painting and preparing for my exhibition and workshop in April, I am slowly getting back into some sort normal headspace. I know now from having several exhibitions now that there is a feeling of being caught in the dull drums. It’s not depression its something else, I know other artists go through it. It’s sort of weird.

Anyway, I’m in my happy place of observing nature and sketching. I love the loose line and the unpredictable splats of an ink nib. I also like the fact that, once dry I can watercolour on top and the ink won’t bleed.
