Drawing birds in ink and watercolour

After a full on year of painting and preparing for my exhibition and workshop in April, I am slowly getting back into some sort normal headspace. I know now from having several exhibitions how tricky it can be to suddenly stop creating, stop thinking about the ‘exhibition’ and all that goes with it. It’s not depression its something else, I know other artists go through it. It’s sort of weird.

Anyway I’m in my happy place of observing nature and sketching. I love the loose line and the unpredictable splats of an ink nib. I also like the fact that, once dry I can watercolour on top and the ink won’t bleed.
