Decay And Decomposition


Autumn brought an amazing array of fungi, lichen and moss species, sprouting up in grassy feilds, moist undergrowth and on old and decaying logs. Now winter has arrived and the fungi are dying and wilting away into the soil. So to are leaves, bark, gumnuts, twigs and animal scats, all going back into the soil. adding nutrients to feed new plants and the insects and worms below.
