As Winter Sets In

One mighty big surprise

The weather has been surprisingly mild this winter, very much unlike the last two years when it rained non-stop for what felt like months!

The forecast predicts rain in a few days time so I’m going to get as much outdoor walking and photographing in before the inevitable happens.

With the enticing blue sky out early yesterday morning, I went for a walk, down to my usual spot, and to my surprise, and very unexpected to see, was this large fungi, a Boletes!!

It’s the very first one I have seen here in Tasmania. 25 cm across and the stem about 10cm thick.
