With the help of Shane Pitt, the west coast mayor, we unveiled, ‘A Day At The Footy’
I was excited to see the work myself; the last time I saw the work was before it was sent to be framed….well, apart from a tiny glimpse at Soggy Brolly when it was still bubble wrapped.
Beautifully framed by Wagner Framemakers in Hobart. Simple Tasmanian oak frame, float mounted.
A small but intimate gathering of artists and Queenstown folk. I am so grateful to all that came along and to all those that contributed to getting the work to this stage. They say, ‘it takes a community to raise a child’, it also takes a community to support an artist. This is how I would describe my experience with winning The Unconformity 2022 West Coast Artist Commission has been.
