On another late autumn stroll heading towards the Stitt River trail, I spotted a nice selection of fungi to photograph with my camera and microlens. The trail is sealed, on one side is a steep embankment, covered by moss, and lichen. Small plants and trees cling to the rocks and soil. exposing their roots as they twist their way through the dampness to find food. On the the other side of the path is a narrow strip of grass which drops down several meters into damp forest, too steep to climb down, and probably would get ripped to pieces by the black berry thorns if you tried.
Soon, I hope to be able to identify them, I purchased a book in Tasmanian Fungi!
